29th October 2026PlayStation 4 firmware 14.00 has been hacked – First look at BONK HEN
The latest PlayStation 4 exploit has just been released that covers up to and including firmware version 14.00. At the time of making this video at the start of November 2026 this is the current official firmware release so If you’ve been waiting for homebrew access you’re in luck.
But the launch of this exploit has been surrounded by a bit of controversy in the modding community. One of the main developers, Saudidos, reported on it in their Twitter feed. Basically they were still developing the mod when someone leaked the code and released an unofficial ISO file containing the exploit. Naturally this has upset the development team leaving a bit of a question mark over the completion of the exploit work.
Sony have also been notified of the exploit so do expect a very quick firmware update over the next few days. My advice as always is to make sure to block system updates straight away so you don’t get locked out from modding your console.
But the files are now out so let’s take a look at what it can do.
Parts used
BluRay Writer – https://link.amazon/B0foePtXX
BluRay disks – https://link.amazon/B0c2oRcTM

Setting Up The Exploit
The exploit uses the BluRay disk system as its entry point so you’ll need to be a BluRay writer to be able to set this up. All you need to do is head over to this web page and download the ISO disk file.

All you need to do then is burn it to a BluRay disk. It does have to be a BluRay disk. Anything else doesn’t trigger the entry point.
Once that’s complete I would strongly advise a few bits of setup on your console.
First you’ll need the BluRay drive to be fully updated. Make sure you are connected to the Internet and pop in a BluRay Disk – NOT the exploit disk. If you get a prompt to update your BluRay system go ahead and do that.
Next disconnect your console from the Internet or set the DNS to use Sony safe servers. To do this open up your Setting then go to Network Settings. Click the Setup Connection link and then choose your connection type. We now want a custom setup but we’ll use an automatic IP address. We don’t want to specify a DHCP Host but we do need to manually enter our DNS settings.
Set your primary DNS to 45.56.67.85 or 62.210.38.117. These servers will automatically block your console from connecting to any of the Sony systems so your console will not get your PSN account banned. Next set automatic MTU settings and do not specify a proxy server.
Your system will now be safe to run the mod.
Pop the exploit BluRay disk in your PS4 and open it.
You should see some code appearing and if everything goes OK you’ll now have a modded console. This exploit is still in the very early stages so it isn’t going to work every time. If your system resets or hangs for a long time you’ll just need to reset it and try again.
Once you get the exploit working though you will have access to everything you’d expect.
We don’t yet have GoldHEN but I guess that will come soon.
What Next?
And I guess what comes next is the real question.
At the moment the mod is usable if not perfect. It does require the ability to burn a BluRay disk but no doubt you’ll see those appearing on the Internet very soon.
We do need GoldHEN support and that will require you to burn another disk so bear that in mind before you spend any hard cash.
There is a possibility that this exploit could be triggered through a WebKit system but again that will take some more development work.
Overall then it’s great to see support for firmware 14.00 being added to the list but do expect Sony to release 14.02 or something very very soon.
